About Me

Hi! I am a 33-year-old guy from Helsinki, Finland. I have been developing software since I was 13 so I have been a programmer for 20 years in practice. In the beginning I programmed some random stuff and games with the Finnish-born CoolBasic programming languages.

Nowadays, I have expertise in multiple languages, frameworks and technologies such as Python, Django MVC framework, JavaScript, Java and Android. Once I even knew Turbo Pascal as I was fortunate enough to have a class in that during my time in the elementary school.

Concerning education, my history goes as follows: after graduating from Itäkeskus Upper Secondary School (which was later renamed to Helsinki Upper Secondary School of Languages) and the Finnish military service, I went to study IT to Lappeenranta University of Technology. After one year of studies there, I transferred to Aalto University, School of Science to study IT there as well. During my Bachelor's degree studies I minored in Automation and Control Engineering.

In the year 2016, I completed my B.Sc. (Tech.) degree, and finally graduated with the M.Sc. (Tech.) degree majoring Computer Science and study track being Software Systems and Technologies in 2020.

In the past, I have mostly worked at Helsinki City Transport (HKL) which was later reorganized into a company called Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd. My work experience there actually started as a metro train cleaner in 2009, and I was glad to be able to start working there in IT-related tasks in 2015. During my time there I developed a multitude of applications regarding remote diagnostics of M200 series metro trains of Helsinki, procurement and acceptance testing, i.a. During years 2018-2019 I worked at Veikkaus Oy where my tasks focused on a web casino game engine, implementing web casino game back-ends and porting them from one engine to another.

Since 2020 I have worked at the Metropolitan Area Transport Ltd again mostly regarding the tasks before the period of working at Veikkaus, one aim being to enable remote diagnostics of all metro trains and Artic-type trams of Helsinki. In addition to accumulating experience regarding programming there, I have also got experience concerning design, system architecture, documentation and DevOps.

An app for mapping Android device mobile network signal strength, developed as a group project with other students at Aalto University as part of Mobile Systems Programming class. My responsibilities were tasks regarding the background service which collected the signal data. NB: UI shown in the image is not designed or implemented by me!
